After retiring early, we questioned whether living in Florida on a 6/6mo. Schedule would be right for us. In June 2004, we got in the car and headed south. We had our laptop with us and information on several communities. We had seen an advertisement for Blair Communities in the back of an AARP publication and contacted them for information on several of their communities.
We started in Ocala and headed toward Orlando and then toward Tampa. We looked at communities in the day, and checked out others in the area at night on the laptop.
We thought first of renting somewhere for the winter and then really checking communities more closely at that time. A lot of places only had older homes for sale and 'old' homes for rent. Somehow, winding through Central Florida, we found south Lakeland and several communities that were more of what we had in mind. We also came to the conclusion that it might be cheaper to buy rather than rent if we were going to be here six months. After picking a home that had possibilities in South Lakeland, we decided to head to the north side and try to find Cypress Lakes. We found it and then turned in to check things out. When we turned and drove down through the entrance, our first reaction was "wow, can we afford this?" But, nothing ventured, nothing gained, so we headed for the Sales Office. We met our Housing Consultant and asked two questions: Do you have new and resale homes and do we have to pay for golf if we don't golf? His answers were yes and no. He asked us what we wanted to see. We couldn't believe how beautiful and well-kept everything was. We found a house and spent the weekend making the sale happen.
We feel we have the best of everything right here. The people of Cypress Lakes have become our family. After 6 months, we decided to go back and sell our house. Cypress Lakes is now our fulltime home. We couldn't be happier.

We began our search for our retirement home in 2004, researching many on the internet and visiting several personally. We wanted to move from Pennsylvania to a year round location in Florida. We moved into our new home in 2006 and picked Cypress Lakes for a variety of reasons
- Our Housing consultant was very helpful and even suggested layout and placement of our lanai and storage shed during the process.

- So many activities...always something to do!
- Newly renovated and expanded Clubhouse, fitness center, pool area and Cypress Grill.
We chose a Palm Harbor home and found it very helpful to have their construction facilty only 12 miles away.
We have made many new friends in the community and look forward to making more in the future.

When we decided we wanted to move to a golf community in Florida, we researched more than 30 communities. After narrowing our list down to about 6 or 7, we set up a trip to visit those communities. When we contacted Cypress Lakes we were connected with Tom Cain. Working with Tom and Cypress Lakes was a wonderful experience. Upon arrival, Tom was there to meet us.
He took the time to tour us through the entire community, he showed us the types of homes we had discussed and answered all of our questions. Once we decided to buy, Tom took care of everything. He helped us with finance options, insurance options, contact names, appliances and a multitude of other items. He continued to call us with progress updates and photos. He was our eyes and ears while we were in PA making sure that everything went according to plan. When we arrived at closing, there were no surprises. Everything was as promised. We love or home and the new life we have discovered at Cypress Lakes.

We retired from Painted Post, NY in 1995 and moved to Calabash, NC. After 10 years there we found that we needed to move further south to find nicer weather. We made several trips to Central Florida and visited a number of communities and kept coming back to Cypress Lakes. The decision was made because of the beautiful upkeep of the homes and the amenities it offered.
There are not enough days in the week to take advantage of all the activities it offers. The golf course is a fair challenge and interesting with all the wildlife wandering about. The sales and maintenance people here were so very cooperative with any changes we requested. As it has turned out Cypress Lakes is another small town with friendly folk just like the one we left in Painted Post, NY.

We came to Cypress Lakes from Southern Kentucky in 2005. Prior to coming here, we spent about a year getting information on the many adult communities in Florida. We decided on Cypress Lakes because of
