Rules & Etiquette

“The course is shared by all. Let the spirit of the game guide you.”

Dress Code

Members are reminded that dress code is always country club attire: Bermuda length shorts with collared shirts for men, and either collared or sleeves for women. Sorry—no tee shirts or denim of any kind.

Pace of Play

“We Play Ready Golf.” The Membership at Big Cypress prides itself on four-hour rounds of golf or under. It’s very hard to lose your ball here so there’s no need for five minute searches. With five sets of tees available, golfers are able to select the best length for their ability.

Big Cypress has also adopted the PGA’s “Play It Forward Program” with great success.

Score Postings

For equitable golfing events, it is imperative that Membership follow the lead of our Handicap Committee. The Membership is continually reminded of the importance of posting all scores to establish and maintain an accurate handicap.

Care for the Course

With the lead of the Men’s Association, Big Cypress Membership is reminded of the creed, “Leave the course better than you found it.”  Raking bunkers, repairing ball marks and filling divots with provided sand is all part of our everyday round of golf.

For golfers ready to go the extra mile, we invite you to our Semi-annual Bucket Brigade where we organize groups to fill divots and pick up broken tees after golfing hours. Bucket Brigades are usually followed by pizza and an adult beverage, or two.
